Manilla
Manilla hosts small content sites. Each site has its own address, its own pages, and its own people. You write the pages. The address is the one you chose when you created the site, like manilla.page/your-name.
A site might be a notebook, a set of recipes, a course, or notes you only want some people to read. Longer explanations of how a piece works will live on this site, next to the privacy policy.
What a site can do now
You can start two sites with one email. After you confirm the address, you are the manager of that site.
Pages are written in Markdown, in the browser, with a preview. A page can stay a draft until you publish it. Folders group the pages, and a folder can have a page of its own. The sidebar follows that structure.
Images can be uploaded and placed on a page. A form can be placed on a page too, and the replies stay with the site for its managers to read. The request form on this site is one of those forms.
Signing in is a link sent to your email. There is no password. A manager can add other people, and can mark a page as public or for subscribers. A visitor can subscribe from a locked page. When a page is published, people who asked for those emails get one. Each person can turn that off.
A page can also be marked for paid members. A paid member would be able to open subscriber pages as well. There is no way to pay yet, so that mark does not collect money.
What is still coming
Checkout, so a paid page can actually be paid for. A way to leave a tip that does not unlock a page. A site's own logo and a choice of colors, instead of the Manilla mark on every site. Search across one site's pages.
Those are not built. When one of them needs a longer explanation, it will be a page here.
